Coming to a sidewalk near you...

RASC Winnipeg Sidewalk Astronomy Series

As part of our ongoing celebration of the International Year of Astronomy, our RASC Winnipeg members will be setting up telescopes throughout the City of Winnipeg, as well asSidewalk Astronomy across the Province and beyond!

Our sidewalk series will include small impromptu events held by individual members in their driveways and communities, as well as at numerous venues throughout the City of Winnipeg.  These events will be held on clear nights, usually when the moon is near 1st quarter or another bright celestial object of interest is prominent in the sky.  To avoid weather cancellations, we will announce the larger events on our Calendar of Events, as well as on our front page, a day or two in advance if conditions are anticpated to be favorable.  With permission, we will also set up our scopes at local public events.

To see our current scheduled IYA events, visit our Calendar of Events.   To see national and international IYA events, click here.
